  10. Hi there Folks. First off, let's get this out of the way:

  12. Machine: Amiga 3000, 25MHz, 1960 monitor, WB/KS 3.1, 2 meg Chip, 16 meg
  13.          FAST (SC), EGS 28/24 Spectrum w/2meg, V-Lab Y/C, 2 internal
  14.          hard-drives (Maxtor 245 and Quantum 850), 4 floppies - one of
  15.          'em HD, ZIP drive, CD-ROM, SupraFax V.32bis modem, 2 printers,
  16.          and a par-tridge-in-a-pear-tree! ;-)

  18. WWW software: PPP v1.45 (reg.), AmiTCP v4.2 (reg.), AMosaic v2.0 (Pre-
  19.               release 3). (And MUI v3.3 (unreg.) to facilitate AMosaic.)

  22. Well, I've finally hauled ass and set up for a WWW connection using PPP,
  23. AmiTCP, and AMosaic. I pretty much set things up as per the docs and I'm
  24. getting reasonable results when accessing my ISP in town. Trouble is,
  25. when browsing a WWW page, if I click on a delayed-image icon, it causes
  26. the A3000 to crash - big time! (I have "DelayImageLoads True" set in
  27. AMosaic's prefs file so as to help control traffic costs.)

  29. Say, for instance, I access the AMosaic Home Page and click for the
  30. little logo in the top left hand of the page - y'know it? Well, the
  31. graphic data starts coming across the net but when it hits about 3000
  32. bytes worth, a message appears in AMosaic's bottom gadget, saying:
  33. "Insufficient temporary workspace: Could not transfer data." Then,
  34. CRASH!!! Ditto for any other page in the world.

  36. Now, I'm aware of the 'ImageCacheSize' line in the ENV:Mosaic/Prefs file
  37. - but I've got that set to a reasonable value: 500KB. (Even setting it
  38. to a higher amount like 1000KB (1 meg) doesn't make any difference to
  39. the crash problem.) Also, there's a full range of DataTypes - Gif, JPEG,
  40. ILBM, PCX, etc. present on the machine - and having AMosaic on a WB
  41. screen or its own custom screen, ala MUI prefs, maketh no diff either.

  43. So... anyone have a clue here? Anyone else experienced this glitch - and
  44. found the solution? Any help appreciated! ;-)
